THE HEARD MUSEUM

Experience American Indian art and cultures at the world famous Heard Museum. Ten ongoing and changing exhibition galleries, free guided tours, world-class shopping, sculpture courtyards and exquisite dining await you. A Valley tradition since 1929, the Heard has expanded to become an international treasure, showcasing the history of American Indian cultures of the Southwest as well as the amazing work that contemporary artists are creating. Video and interactive elements dot many of the galleries, providing the opportunity to hear directly from artists. Two galleries perfect for families – and kids at heart – include dozens of interactives and make-and-take activities. Plus, families can pick up a scavenger hunt when they arrive.

 

Explore the trading post-style Shop, featuring authentic handcrafted jewelry, pottery, textiles, baskets and books, with items in every price range and to satisfy diverse tastes. Plus, experience the Berlin Gallery of contemporary art, representing the work of 22 American Indian fine artists. The courtyard café offers an array of Southwest-inspired cuisine as well as wine offerings and is perfect for a leisurely afternoon with friends and family. The museum’s unique Spanish Colonial-style architecture and grounds filled with sculpture are perfect for self-exploration and make an ideal backdrop for the museum’s festivals.
